In many cases a damaged concrete, terracotta, or slate tiled roof can be replaced with a metal tile roof.  This maintains the appearance of a tiled roof, while giving the strength and durability of a steel roof.  Getting this replaced via insurance will largely depend on your insurance policy, however if your policy denies the substitution many policies allow for a lump sum payout for you to purchase a new roof with.

If you choose to replace your concrete, terracotta, or slate tiled roof with a lightweight roof, you may need additional bracing in the roof structure. This is generally an easy fix and will be described in the engineer’s report required before work commences.
